My friend Nancy asked me to help her shop for a X-Mas tree. Actually, she wants me to be her muscle, and lug the tree up the stairs and hold it straight while she gets it in the tree stand. She said, “But wait a minute. You’re Jewish, do you even know how to buy a X-Mas tree?” I told her I watched Charlie Brown’s Christmas and that told me everything I need to know. I told her the holiday is really supposed to be about love, and caring, and how important our friends and loved ones are. She said we don’t know any of the kind of people who can just show up and make a scrawny tree look like a million bucks.
